Creating a color image of Wrigley Field in Los Angeles

Long-time home of the Los Angeles Angels of the Pacific Coast League and for their first season, the Angels of the American League, Wrigley Field in Los Angeles (second image) was also the home of the television show “Home Run Derby,” where players faced off against each other in a home run contest. It was demolished in the 1960s. Once the pride of West Coast baseball, the movement of the Giants and the Dodgers to California, killed the PCL as a potential third major league. Similarly, the Dodgers choosing to play out of the LA Coliseum (first image) spelled the death of the West Coast Wrigley.

The expansion Angels played their first season in Wrigley put quickly bolted to play in the new stadium of the Dodgers (not called Dodgers stadium for Angels games, but Chavez Ravine). The following images I created by merging two different images to create a new image. With the Wrigley Field image, the two images do not even overlap. the pitchers mound and pitcher are created from different parts of the other two images.LA Coliseum panorama
